MEET KATIE

Katie Barnes is a contemporary artist based in the Washington, D.C. area, known for her bold, expressive paintings inspired by nature, color, and the feeling of being fully immersed in a moment.

Her passion for painting began at a young age and later led her to study Industrial Design at James Madison University. In addition to her fine art practice, Katie is deeply connected to the world of interior design, drawing inspiration from textiles, striking patterns, and evolving design trends. These influences bring a layered, dynamic quality to her work.

Most days, Katie can be found creating in her studio alongside her fiancé, Chris, and their English bulldog, Bodie, the beloved unofficial studio assistant.

CLIENT LOVE NOTES

“Katie is a talented artist whose acrylic paintings immediately captivated me when she first began sharing her work online. I jumped at the opportunity to purchase a piece of my own. The small canvas painting of a dirty martini hangs beautifully in my bar area and receives endless compliments from friends and family. This will surely be the first of many pieces of her art that I own, and cannot wait to see what Katie creates next.”
